“Supervised self-driving” feels like an oxymoron. It’s either safe enough to be completely autonomous or it’s not. There’s no way a human driver being assisted by self-driving is going to be ready to take over at a moments notice with the same awareness that they would have if they were driving the whole time. This is going to kill people.
- sMarsIntruder 6mo agoNo, it’s not. This solution went through millions of kilometres of data and tests. RDW did a really thorough job since we’re talking about Europe: https://www.rdw.nl/en/news/2026/rdw-explanation-of-european-type-approval-tesla-with-provisional-validity-in-the-netherlands https://www.rdw.nl/en/news/2026/rdw-explanation-of-european-... Stop. Spreading. FUD.
- hulitu 6mo agoOf course it is not. I also do "supervised self driving". In fact, everybody does it. The fact that Tesla drivers are only now able to do it, tell us something about their driving abilities. Stop. Spreading. FUD /s
- sMarsIntruder 6mo agoSo if you say BS you can just add /s and it’s fine?
- cedws 6mo agoRDW tested it themselves. That isn't real world usage. Real world drivers will not pay the same attention, and they'll do stupid shit like game the driver attention mechanism so they can watch TikTok.
- sMarsIntruder 6mo agoThis is FUD. Supervised means that the camera watches you in realtime keeping attention. But I get this type of comments just to go against one person.
- cedws 6mo agoYes. And people will find a way to game it like they always do.
- DemocracyFTW2 6mo ago> the camera watches you in realtime keeping attention If this is the world you want there's literally no common ground here
- satvikpendem 6mo agoHow else would you determine whether the driver is paying attention?
