Me caring doesn’t need to be a problem for others. Should we all shout about our minor preferences and gripes all the time? There are people like that, and they are exhausting. It’s essentially a selfish use of a communal good, which is the shared environment. There’s a limit to silent annoyance, of course. But my officemate noisily ate a smelly egg breakfast every day and I just bided my time until I could move.
