  You say you don't care about these identities, yet you’re willing to let a tool you (presumably) value lose funding over a text block you find 'verbose.' It seems you care enough about the signposting to let it outweigh the software's actual utility.

  By that reasoning, nobody would engage in discriminatory hiring practices (or indeed discriminatory behaviour in general), because it's against the law. That is clearly not the case. As such, I really don't see why you have a problem with Mozilla making their position on this matter crystal clear. Do you really consider reading a few extra words that much of a hardship?
