It doesn't seem any more egregious than something like:
`git log --color --graph --pretty=format:'%Cred%h%Creset -%C(yellow)%d%Creset %s %Cgreen(%cr) %C(bold blue)<%an>%Creset' --abbrev-commit --`
Which is something I see a lot of people alias in Git for viewing logs.
