It has the ability to be interactive which can be really helpful. Those plotting features are very alpha at this point, but they are all components that will be in Bokeh (https://github.com/ContinuumIO/bokeh https://github.com/ContinuumIO/bokeh), which will be available as a standalone plotting system for Python.
