Auto industry group calls for scrapping US gas tax, adopting vehicle fee
- bdangubic 7mo agoIn VA, if you drive EV, we already are paying vehicle fee with the registration (in addition to the ridiculous yearly property tax and endless tolls if you want to drive 5 miles in less than an hour :) )
- ungreased0675 7mo agoWeight x mileage seems the most fair to me. It should also disincentivize people from buying larger vehicles just because.
- dabinat 7mo agoI am surprised that vehicle manufacturers would support a weight-based fee, given that their most profitable vehicles like SUVs and pickup trucks tend to be the heaviest.
