  If he's a good enough programmer to do so full time, then he's wasting his time worrying about such broad, imprecise labels as "good" and "bad". I'm saying he should blog about something else.

    Fair enough, but maybe he is not blogging it for himself. Sometimes this kind of thing is good to hear and motivating for those making their way up the ranks (so to speak). We can't all be brilliant programmers. Heck I'm not, but I've been in the industry a long time, and know the difference between when to write good code at the expense of time and when something is unlikely to see the light of day/prototype/one-off.
