There is no Ivy League ceiling in finance (as an industry). I know plenty of people who make (or made) good money in finance with public school degrees. (The ex-finance blokes are all retired now.) Of course, if you limit your search to the "prestigious" firms, then yes, there is an Ivy league filter. But why would you want to work at a firm that is all style and no substance?
