I tried DSPy once, I was very sold on it, and tried to do prompt optimization. I spent a few tens of dollars running evals, but, every single time, there would be no improvement. I ran the evals multiple times (I don't remember the details now, sadly, it was last year), but there was no change. I'm sure I was holding it wrong, but it's not great that it's so easy to hold wrong.
