Show HN: Passport Globe (See where your passport takes you)
Just a cool visual way to see where you can go around the world. It also supports multiple passports.
- devnpatel 6mo agoGreat Tool. I suggest you to add option to select specific type like - only show e-visa, or only show visa on arrival. And also add option to show list of countries.
- hariharan_uno 6mo agoThanks, you can now click on the legend item e.g "Visa free" and it shows only those countries.
- amadeuspagel 6mo agoUseful idea, though I think it would be better as a map not a globe, so that you can see all countries you can travel to at once.
- hariharan_uno 6mo agoadded a toggle to a 2d map now
- netsharc 6mo agoI never get the passport braggers. "Wow, your passport allows you visa-free entry to Burkina Faso, well done, when are you going there?"
- KomoD 6mo agoI don't think I've ever heard anyone brag about their passport
- toomuchtodo 6mo agoOptions are freedom.
- exegete 6mo agoNice work. One piece of feedback - the two shades of green are hard to distinguish and mean very different things
- hariharan_uno 6mo agothanks, fixed it now
- TRiG_Ireland 6mo agoVery fun to play with. As a small issue, the European microstates don't appear on the map.
- KomoD 6mo agoYeah, I find it interesting how it has Northern Cyprus and "French Southern and Antarctic Lands" but not Malta.
- spurwar123 6mo agoUseful and can interactive , and can be better as 2d map
- KomoD 6mo agoI like it but I think I prefer a map over a globe (or at least one that doesn't constantly rotate)
- hariharan_uno 6mo agoadded a toggle to a 2d map now
- david_allison 6mo agoThis is not using current data, which is a huge risk to take when it comes to travel. You can travel visa-free (30 days) to China on a UK passport.
- hariharan_uno 6mo agoah, im using some open source dataset which doesnt have this latest info yet. i'll patch it.
- hariharan_uno 6mo agofixed now, thanks
- gadiyar 6mo agoIt would be really nice if you could add options for some common visas. US Green Card holders and holders of Canadian, UK, Schengen and a few other visas get vastly greater coverage than their original passports would by themselves.
