- eloisant 7mo agoOf course people are free not to have kids... But I've always find it weird to "celebrates childfree lives". And I'm frankly annoyed by the growing activism to ban kids from public places in the name of "adults quietness".
- whateveracct 7mo agomany adults nowadays are less resilient than my baby
- markus_zhang 7mo agoAs a parent I'm kinda cool with that. Adults, especially middle-age family adults, are not really supported in this world and they should enjoy whatever the peace they can get. If my kid gets too grumpy I'd bring him out for a walk and he is usually happier after that. Ofc no escape on trains/buses, but he loves those, so that's fine.
- pm90 7mo agoWe celebrate the other option so why not celebrate child free lives? It seems like historically a lot of people have had to make this decision not by their own will or need. Showing people that they can have just as compelling lives as parents is a net-good.
- jen729w 7mo ago> But I've always find it weird to "celebrates childfree lives". It's more about making it clear to other people that hassling me to have kids is not okay. My bestie is Australian-Italian. My god the shit she's got from her family over her life. At one point in her early 40s she told me she stopped going to family gatherings, such was the incessant pressure from relatives. We need to understand that some people – me and my partner are two of them – do not like and do not want children. So please, for the love of god, stop asking women about it. (Nobody asks me, a dude, fwiw.)
- gametorch 7mo ago> Tired of doing this alone? That's some pretty ironic copy xD
- xyzelement 7mo agoNo guilt trip but hard to say this is a timeless and universal approach.
