I don't think it was ever the moment, even though there has always been a market for plant-based foods, the company assumed that market was far larger than it ever was or will be.
- carlosjobim 7mo ago100% of all people alive right now eat plant based food every day.
- Simulacra 7mo agoIt would seem the company, and the market disagrees with you
- carlosjobim 7mo agoWhat did you eat today?
- ElijahLynn 7mo agoSo true. All protein on the planet, was made from sunlight and photosynthesis. You can eat the animal that ate the plants, but then you lose out on tons of micronutrients and fiber.
- bsjshshsb 7mo agoAren't some amino acids synthesized in animals?
- globular-toast 7mo agoNone that we need and can't get directly from plants.
- bsjshshsb 7mo agoOk but I am wondering about the truth of: > All protein on the planet, was made from sunlight and photosynthesis
- globular-toast 7mo agoAh, yeah, some amino acids are synthesised in animals. We synthesise a handful of them ourselves. But there are still a bunch that we can't synthesise and need to get from our diet. I think that goes for all animals. Since you need a complete supply of all amino acids to make protein then plants provide the essential link in the chain so you could say it all comes from photosynthesis ultimately.
- goosejuice 7mo agoThe market is clearly differentiated by animal tissue, specific ones in fact.
