I've been complaining about lousy laptop resolutions for years, but it finally seems to be getting better. I helped a friend buy a new laptop last weekend, and there were plenty of 1080p options. It's still not ideal, because the 16:9 aspect ratio sucks, and it's ridiculous that nobody but Apple has laptop displays matching the iPad 3 or Nexus 10 at any price. But it's an improvement over the years of 1366x768 regression.
