They've attacked many US bases. They've also retaliated against US/Israeli business interests when the US/Israel did the same to Iran. Iran is waging a very strategic war and quite a moral one I might add. They even gave evacuation orders to Tel Aviv neighborhoods they were targeting military installations in.
- Hikikomori 7mo agoIsrael uses human shields for their bases? Imagine that.

- ethbr1 7mo agoThey miscalculated the consequences of being an international pariah. Not many countries will lift a serious finger when a rogue country complains about others violating the rules-based international order against it. Sure, there will be general international rumblings about 'dissatisfaction' and expressing 'hope the war will end', but Iran doesn't have nation-state allies of the kind that will go to war with the US over this. It could have, if it had tied itself tighter to other Middle East states and been less disruptive in the region over the last few decades.
- alluro2 7mo agoNot sure if you realize that you could easily be talking about Israel.
- ethbr1 7mo agoIndeed, and yet Israel has a seemingly strong alliance with the world's strongest military and normalized relations with many of its Arab neighbors. I'm no fan of Israel's current insane government, but strategically they outplayed Iran badly in terms of international support. And when push comes to shove, actual support matters in internal geopolitics.

- data_maan 7mo agoStrategic? Yes. Moral? Hm. From a moral POV this would be about who has the right to terrorize the Iranian population: the Iranian government or the US/Israel government.
- gravisultra 7mo agoThe Iranian government didn't blow up a school of children and bomb a huge oil reserve in the middle of the largest city in Iran.
