Bandit: A 32bit baremetal computer that runs Color Forth [video]
- natas 8mo agoThat video is really neat, seriously, well done!
- bitwize 8mo agoNow THIS is a cyberdeck. Its janky, cobbled-together nature and Forth "OS" give it that postapocalyptic feel.
- osullivj 8mo agoJupiter Ace: a ZX80 with a Forth ROM. Inspired me to port an 8080 FIG Forth listing to the Camputers Lynx back in 83.
- jockm 8mo agoWell somewhere between a ZX80 and a ZX81, it had a better video system than either, but at the cost of dedicated video ram (IIRC)
- grumblepeet 8mo agoI would love a full sized keyboard made with those keys. That aside, I will probably buy one of these. It is the ultimate nerd fiddle toy. Brilliantly done.
- xkriva11 8mo agoThat's cool, but why not use the native colorForth keyboard layout? https://www.ultratechnology.com/editor/dvorak.jpg https://www.ultratechnology.com/editor/dvorak.jpg

- chuckadams 8mo agoChuck Moore used Dvorak because it suited him best. The author is using the layout that works best for him, and that rather fits the spirit of colorForth, no?
- crest 8mo agoBeware reading the specs. It uses an ancient ARM9 CPU core instead of an ARM v9 compatible one.
