What's wrong with the name Wiz?

- girvo 7mo agoWhizz is onomatopoeia (well, ish) for urinating in English
- ahofmann 7mo agoAnd "Witz" means "joke" in german.
- tw-20260303-001 7mo agoYeah, but it’s pronounced differently. Germans are bad at English pronunciation. A couple of examples: BBQ ~> „barbicue”, Pampers ~> „pempas”.
- the_mitsuhiko 7mo agoWichs also means ejaculate. Wix even had an ad where they made fun on “wichser” (Masturbator) on German TV.
- normie3000 7mo agoBilly Whizz is rhyming slang for Jimmy Riddle.
- adrianmonk 7mo agoIt makes me think of the 1978 movie "The Wiz" starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Richard Pryor. Despite the big stars, it isn't generally regarded as a very good movie. Maybe updating "The Wizard of Oz" with disco music wasn't a good idea after all.
