My daughter just ordered one of these. She’s a student (not stem) and her ancient 8Gb MacBook Air with an intel processor was still serving well but the battery has become unuseable and her keyboard is becoming flaky.
The Neo is such a perfect replacement and easier than fixing the Air.
- ThePowerOfFuet 7mo agoThe keyboard issue was probably caused by the battery, which can be replaced, and the keyboard would have likely returned to normal after the battery replacement. In fact, depending on the model, the battery replacement may well have also entailed replacing the whole top cover (including the keyboard).
- smackeyacky 7mo agoInteresting I will look at replacing the battery if that’s a possibility. Thanks!
- B1FF_PSUVM 7mo agoThe Intel MacBook Air battery was very easy to swap, just opening the bottom lid. Amazon has kits for about 40 bucks with the two necessary screwdrivers included.
- ThePowerOfFuet 7mo agoDon't buy lithium-ion batteries on Amazon. Especially not very large ones like in a laptop.
- adastra22 7mo agoJust did this on a 2017 MacBook Air. Battery was cheap ($50?) and it was simple to do. Machine is working just fine now.
- adastra22 7mo agoFor what it's worth, if anyone comes back to read this, the battery just died :\ Didn't even last a month.
- ibero 7mo agocome on now, let the poor girl have a new laptop to replace her (at least) 5 year old one. what are we doing here.
- 698969 7mo agoWhy'd the battery be related to the keyboard issue?
