As a trader, I would say don't buy just yet. Wise ole traders warn: "don't try to catch falling daggers. Wait until they stick in the floor and stop quivering."

- toomuchtodo 8mo agoAgree to wait for the floor via a bounce if you’re looking to scalp and maximize the gain via a short term flip vs being a bit early, which is also fine if you’re buying to hold long term. Time horizon as always.
- SilverElfin 8mo agoWell, what I meant was, is there a way to trade in real time? The markets are closed. So you don’t have any choice but to accept a giant drop in your portfolio when they open in the morning. There’s no opportunity to sell quickly. I do agree that you could buy the dip if you just have cash lying around.
- SilverElfin 8mo agoI am not a trader, but I’m curious about your thoughts on timing. If you wait, then you might miss out when the market climbs back up, right? Isn’t it worth doing some amount of buying even on the current dip before it hits the floor? Is it even possible to confidently identify the floor? In other words, why not do a series of smaller purchases on the way down and catch the falling dagger sort of.
