- robthebrew 8mo agoDid you read carefully? USA started it with an attack on Iranian desalination plants.
- verdverm 8mo agoYea, I'm fully claiming the USA has committed war crimes if this is true. I said the same when Israel soldiers filmed themselves blowing up water facilities in Gaza. Iran is also doing this in retaliation. All are war crimes. Similarly, it is increasingly look like the USA is behind the murder of the 140+ school girls. During WW2, war crimes were bountiful on both sides. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsIk0qF0R1j4cwI-ZuDoBLxVEV3egWKoM https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsIk0qF0R1j4cwI-ZuDoB... - SilverElfin 8mo agoI think because the notion of war crimes doesn’t mean much anymore. If there’s a crime, who is prosecuting it? Who has authority to bring criminals to court? The existing western led order and its institutions like the UN have lost legitimacy and power. So maybe they recognize it’s a war crime but feel labeling it this way doesn’t add much? But at the same time I agree with the sentiment. It’s not the first time Iran has hinted that desalination plants are a target. Trying to control the strait is also a similar tactic - it cuts off food imports. And they also recently said they would target a nuclear power plant.
- verdverm 8mo agoThis is about the "good guys" blowing up a desalination plant and Iran responding in "kind". Two wrongs don't make a right. I am (trying to remain) hopeful that each country can investigate, prosecute, and hold those responsible.
