Thanks for that. I have seen internal hire before or even "we know who we want but legal makes us post it for 7 days". The comp technique you mentioned though seems like a lot of work for price discovery, surely there are data sets out there?

It's probably not the most efficient means, no. Probably one of the cheapest methods, though. It's definitely not something you can get away with in a good job market.
