Why Do Investors Keep Buying Century Bonds?
- JohnFen 8mo agoWhat happens if you buy a century bond from a company and that company goes out of business before the bond matures? Does the bond become worthless? It seems like an important question because I can't think of any company that I am confident will still exist in 100 years.
- RickJWagner 8mo agoAs the company liquidates, bond holders are among the first people to be paid after assets and liabilities are netted out. You’d likely get some portion of the face value of the bond at that time. ( Also no future interest payments. )
