I think you are both talking about slightly different things:

* A "hernia": is the abnormal exit of tissue or an organ, such as the bowel, through the wall of the cavity in which it normally resides.[
- spwa4 7mo agoThat's called a "fistel" and it's a very serious condition, requires immediate surgery, and recognizable by the smell from roughly a kilometer away.
- fwip 7mo agoNo, a fistula is different than a hernia. If you think of your abdomen as a bag full of tubes, a fistula is a hole in the tube that connects to something else. A hernia is a hole in the bag, that the tube can poke through.
