If you think humans are going to delegate reasoning and responsibility to something, shouldn’t you also be concerned about the sorts of recommendations that thing is going to make?
- paxys 8mo agoIf you found out the pentagon was using a magic 8 ball to make important war decisions what would you want to fix - our military leadership or the inner workings of the toy?
- hn_go_brrrrr 8mo agoOne of those sounds a lot easier than the other. The magic 8 ball toy company would also probably be pretty incentivized to not die in a nuclear holocaust.
- loire280 8mo agoUnless you're suggesting the toy company secretly rigs the magic 8 ball to never recommend nuclear war, I'll take my chances with the organizational changes.
- foobar10000 8mo agoThat is indeed what I think the gp is suggesting I feel. And why not?
- grey-area 8mo agoBecause if your leadership is stupid enough to trust the 8 ball they should not be in charge??!
- hn_go_brrrrr 8mo agoNo kidding. But how hard is it to effect leadership change, especially in an organization where you have next to no leverage? Really hard.
