If you're targeting desktop, Steam will be your primary distribution channel by a huge margin. Steam is AI-hostile. Don't use it.
If you're targeting something like mobile or web, do whatever you like with AI. Some will avoid it, but they're a vocal minority.
- cableshaft 8mo agoI thought Steam just required you to disclose your A.I. use. Or are you referring to players on the platform being hostile to it? - muzani 8mo agoThanks for checking. It looks like the policy was updated. 2024: All Generative AI images were banned 2025: Disclosure of all use of AI, even little things like it being used for brainstorming titles 2026: Disclosure of all AI assets
