I can't think of an industry that I want to fail more.
- 8awake 8mo agoWithout pharma R&D, a lot more people would be sick or dying from things we now routinely treat, antibiotics, vaccines, insulin, HIV meds, many cancer therapies.. You can criticize pricing and ethics (fairly), but the underlying research and development is urgently needed, and somebody has to pay for it.
- popalchemist 8mo agoA field or domain of pursuit need not be an industry to produce innovations that save people. Industrialization is privatization and some things -- in my opinion life-saving healthcare treatmens / breakthroughs is one of those things -- should not be a for-profit undertaking.
