No, the US still spends 5x what Europe does on biomedical research, measured as a percent of GDP.
- tensor 8mo agoFor now. US science is still in decline. Major works by places like Moderna have been denied permission to continue, for example. You can't assume that funding will not continue to decrease at a rapid rate in the US.
- cogman10 8mo agoEven if it continues, there's been a huge amount of reputational damage done and no political will to do what must be done to reverse that damage.
