pg_background: Make Postgres do the long work (while your session stays light)
- tomrod 8mo agoNice Idea. Recommendation: more docs! I could see individuals trying this out and having a hard time knowing how to kill the background process(es).
- pragmatic 8mo agoEvery DBAs nightmare. Please use this with caution. There’s a reason client task libraries exist and you aren’t using the most expensive hardware, central point of contention for this type of thing. Under the right conditions this could be useful/interesting buuutt this is ripe for abuse.
