- functionmouse 8mo agoLife expectancy under this regime is 79.4 and rising --- in the U.S., it's 79.4 and dropping.
- DustinEchoes 8mo ago> and dropping That’s false. There was a dip during the onset of the pandemic but now it is at an all time high.

Even if you ignore the dip, it’s hard to call the situation “an all time high”. But maybe you have other sources ?

- somedude895 8mo agoNot sure if you're just trying to be edgy, but hundreds of thousands of Cubans have fled to the US over the past few years. Not very many have gone the other way.

- Teocali 8mo agoyes, but did you consider that maybe, just maybe, that a lot less of these cubans would have fled to the US without the embargo ?
- mft_ 8mo agoCalorie restriction consistently extends the lifespan of laboratory animals, so…
- _zagj 8mo agoEven better, you don't have to worry about ICE jackboots trying kick people out. (However, egress may prove a tad bit more difficult.)
- mediumsmart 8mo agoMaybe try something new. Lift the embargo and let the regime fail by itself after 66 years of this. 66 Years. A 2023 study by the Cuban Observatory of Human Rights estimated that 88% of the population lives in extreme poverty.[28] According to the World Food Programme of the United Nations, rationed food meets only a fraction of daily nutritional needs for many Cubans, leading to health issues.[29] Ongoing since 1960, the United States embargo against Cuba stands as one of the longest-running trade and economic measures in bilateral relations in history.[30] The U.S. government influences extraterritorial trade with Cuba. The embargo has faced international criticism for its adverse impact on Cubans, including by the United Nations who have formally condemned it intermittently since 1992.
- AndyMcConachie 8mo agoAmerican empire is a death cult.
- 948382828528 8mo agoHow does their death toll compare to the 145 million people murdered by communists so far?
- Teocali 8mo agoSo it’s okay for the US to starve the Cubans to death since decades ?
- cherry_tree 8mo agoOnly if we count them as deaths caused by communism, of course.
