One thing that has happened since 2020 is that recent AMD CPUs support AVX-512, so that raises the number of registers by 16+16+32.
- theandrewbailey 9mo agoIntel's client CPUs still don't (officially*) support AVX-512, but pretty much all AMD CPUs with DDR5 do. * Outside of older Alder Lake CPUs, and even then, it's kind of a hack.
