This is exactly why I just reserved one. Our son gets home before us, and it's nice to know when he gets home. Currently I get a Growl notification when he turns on the PC, but if he doesn't turn it on I won't know when he gets in (and he's not in the habit of calling us, which I guess is the ultimate solution, but this is a good alternative). We have maid service too. I'm less concerned with opening it remotely versus just knowing when it's unlocked/locked.
