Elon Musk Wants to Build an A.I. Satellite Factory on the Moon
- King-Aaron 8mo agoMaybe he should complete the moon lander that he promised would be done by now
- rogerkirkness 8mo agoNot a fan of Elon but he said his job is 'To turn impossible engineering projects into late ones' and I thought that was pretty accurate.
- ggm 8mo ago"past performance is not a good guide to future performance" is what the finance industry says about the uncertain waters of investment. If you think late delivery is a trendline to work with against the impossible, I have a self driving car to sell you. (it's not FSD. he delivered late, and he under-delivered to his sell)
- rogerkirkness 8mo agoI own a Tesla with FSD I bought in 2021 so I feel that. It clearly is far worse than Waymo still.
- King-Aaron 8mo agoI like that quote, however I wouldn't put my money behind someone who continually fails to deliver on projects. Oh also the whole you know what going on. But primarily the failure to deliver multiple highly-publicized projects all the while raking in colossal grant and investment money is just wild to me. If this were any other org, Elon would be beyond toast.
- SilverElfin 8mo agoIt’s interesting because a year ago Musk dismissed the moon entirely. Now that Blue Origin is competitive with SpaceX and planning to land on the moon, Musk is dishonestly pivoting. I do find the mention of mass drivers disturbing - is Elon creating a space based weapon that threatens other countries?
- bergie 8mo agoSomebody gave him a synopsis of Moon is a Hard Mistress that went something like "AI organises a libertarian polygamous utopia on moon after seceding from earth using mass driver as the threat"
- Zigurd 8mo agoHe found that on Epstien's nightstand? And don't you dare edit the post.
- tim333 8mo agoThere are probably easier way to threaten countries than lobbing stuff from the moon.
- cosmicgadget 8mo agoDude has poetry magnets that consist only of buzzwords. When he needs to raise money he just checks his fridge door.
- verzali 8mo agoIt is fascinating watching his hardcore supporters pivot with him.
