Concerning independence and autonomy, I ruefully recall hearing the saying “You get to work your own hours … as long as it’s all of them.”
- mitjam 8mo agoThere is a word play in German: „Selbstständig bedeutet selbst und ständig.“ - Self-employed means yourself, continuously.
- tonyedgecombe 8mo agoSome people do that but it is more of a choice than you might expect. For most of the twenty six years I was doing it I rarely worked more than three or four hours a day.
- sixhobbits 8mo agoI know it as 'Being self employed is great, you control your own time and can choose any 80 hours/week to work"
- bavell 8mo agoBe self-employed and be your own boss! Ooops, now you have multiple bosses (each client).
