- nicoco 9mo agoYou can with dino. I wish I had the time to work on getting A/V calls back in gajim. It could be worth asking an NLNet grant for that… https://dino.im/ https://dino.im/
- ekianjo 9mo agoYes it works but it lacks QOL features like automatic compression of videos or images when sending attachments. A bit too barebones.
- upofadown 9mo agoHow would you send an uncompressed video/image? Like thumbnails?
- rcakebread 9mo agoWhy would you want to automatically degrade the quality?
- ekianjo 9mo agoIt does not have to be automatic. Easy to expose that through options, most clients do that. Also, I don't need pictures shared to be at the utmost best quality.
- leetnewb 9mo agoIn addition to Dino, you could use movim as a PWA.
- edhelas 9mo agoAnd they are both compatible, unlike Element and ElementX ;)
- neilalexander 9mo agoThere is not a single good XMPP client for macOS or iOS either. There are a couple of minimally functional ones that are aesthetically dreadful, but nothing that would come even close to replicating what people would expect even from Signal or WhatsApp, let alone a monster like Discord. Certainly nothing that I could ask friends or family to use.
- nicoco 9mo agoI have had success getting apple-loving friends to use https://monal-im.org/ https://monal-im.org/ https://snikket.org/ https://snikket.org/ are working on a new iOS client too (no release so far).
