JFC. Of course the old man is responsible, that's why he's going to prison. But to just leave it at that is to be an enabler of the scammers, there's a lot more that went into teeing up this situation that ought to be prevented. What if he'd just have fallen for the scam instead of shooting anyone? That's still not an acceptable outcome.
