EU does not have software patents.

- unmole 8mo agoThe GP probably meant software patents are not recognised in the EU.
- rcbdev 8mo agoYou are just listing random software made in the EU, completely disregarding the fact that software is not even patentable in most of not all EU jurisdictions.
- giuliomagnifico 8mo agoOh okay then there are eu software patented, in example lots of SAP apps, medical software from Philips, network software from Ericsson and Nokia etc..
- rcbdev 8mo agoYes, there are large EU companies which have filed for patents with the US patent office. These patents are worthless in front of an EU court because, as I said, code is usually considered a work of literature in EU copyright law and can thusly not be patented.
