I bought an audiobook via Amazon which was DRM-free. The next audiobook was only available through Audible. So I signed up to give it a try and I have to say that this was the worst buying experience ever. It starts with the password policy. Passwords require a maximum length(!), which is not only stupid but also a strong indicator that they store the passwords in plaintext (like varchar(16)). I asked them whether they'd do that and they denied, but I don't believe them. And, well, the whole DRM-nonsense and stupid file formats that don't play on my Android phone without their app. I won't buy via Audible again.
