This is apparently not the case[1].
> if citizens are arrested they will eventually be released.
Yes, but my point is that this will happen after the polls close.

- diogenescynic 9mo agoThere's an immigration checkpoint near my house. I've had to present my ID. It took all of 5 minutes and then I moved on with my life. The hysterical response to all this is ridiculous. When you get a hotel in Europe, they take a copy of your passport and track you. Why do people think every other country is different than what we are doing? In fact, we already have the most liberal immigration laws in the entire world, not even debatable. We let in more legal immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined. If you can't come here legally and you commit crimes, I have no problem with deporting them. Why would I fight to keep more criminals here when they have no right to be here? I don't understand the game democrats are playing at. I'd love to see liberals go to another country and realize most other countries are openly racist to a degree they wouldn't even comprehend. The real world is far from a cosmopolitan leftist utopia.
- nmeagent 9mo ago> There's an immigration checkpoint near my house. I've had to present my ID. It took all of 5 minutes and then I moved on with my life. There's a very real possibility now that if you have the wrong physical attributes, encounter the wrong federal agent, or (in the near future) are insufficiently loyal as deemed by some unaccountable bureaucrat, that it may not take five minutes, but instead quite a long time, when at that checkpoint you are instead arbitrarily and illegally detained, whisked away to some holding camp several states away, and held without access to counsel or due process for some indeterminate length of time. Draconian immigration enforcement is currently used as an excuse to habituate people like you to arbitrary inspection and force. You're going to miss the rule of law when it's gone, so now would be a great time to stop being obtuse with this left-right culture nonsense and instead support the protection of all of the people's constitutional rights.
- mindslight 9mo agoWell said. How many more Americans have to die before these fanboys realize the topic here has very little to do with immigration? TDS, indeed.
- atomic_reed 9mo agoOk, and why are those Americans dying? Consider an unfortunate Uyghur situation in China, where 10+ people died at the hands of knives in the mountain city of Kunming, 1000s of miles away far away from the desert. And how many Americans have died? 2 where video obviously shows escalation from those without weapons. America is an orderly country and those with guns are holding back. Poke, poke, poke. Pull, pull, pull. Those who play video games know how automatic it can be. Yet these officers are not doing it. Yet why is everybody screaming and kicking? At whoever they feel they can scream at? Now let's flip a perspective. Consider the General Secretary says, "your way of life is like a drug" [1]. If the only way you know how to fight the state is to kill, the economy is blocked by Extremists, politics are blocked by Extremists, only knives are open to Centrists, what can you do? You can only poke, no? So we must hold empathy for the right lives, for the right matters, and for the right centrists. Power should centralize among those who are right, and the wind of history will flow in the right direction. That is the Destiny we rightly Manifest. - mindslight 9mo agoThere is always some rationale. Nobody ever thinks of themselves as a villain. But to answer my own question, your number is clearly higher than two.
- atomic_reed 9mo agoYour answer is correct. It was an interesting journey, scrolling up to read your own question and down to read your answer. I wonder how those 1000s of years ago would be impressed, by my hunched back and finger movements. Good luck in persuading those you see as a future villain.
- atomic_reed 9mo agoWell I don't think this is very likely inference. Let's consider the President's Truth Social account: the 2020 election was rigged in multiple states. If the election can rigged so broadly, why even care about election results? What is the simplest thing to do? Just ignore all of them. Consider a 3 person vote: if two people claim that you don't deserve to live in your home, what do you do? The path of least resistance is to stay put. So your inference is not grounded in truth.
