Anyone have info on this vs Immich? I just got my Syn so been trying their native app which seems fine so far but not sure what I’m missing.
- ldh 9mo agoPersonally I've avoided using any Synology-specific functionality. It's not as transparent and seems kind of brittle. I feel like that's going to pay off because after a couple of years I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch to an open source solution instead, and I won't have to look for alternatives to systems I'm already using.
- jmathai 9mo agoI found Immich to be significantly higher quality. Nothing prevents you from running Immich in a newer synology which support containers. Mine is so old that it doesn’t and it’s also under powered - else I’d be running Immich on it.
