Maybe it worked with less sensitive radios back in the day. I have done experiments on recent devices and it’s very difficult. I was successful in attenuating cell service with a $XXXX test enclosure, but not 2.4Ghz WiFi. Maybe blocking cell service is good enough for your use case, but if you’re trying to protect against an APT you’re probably half-way closing the vulnerability.
