The iPhone antennagate story would suggest that sometimes this isn’t the situation.

- lostlogin 9mo agoAttenuating RF is exactly what a Faraday cage does. Though as you suggest, relying that would be a bad idea. For some reason manually turning off RF transmission seems to have been ruled out, so we are looking for an unusual solution to the problem.
