As a Buxtonist (shorthand for committed-but-armed pacifist) Plato's choice of spirit animal has my vote* Καὶ μὴν τό γε τῆς τοῦ κυνὸς φύσεως ἐπισκοπεῖν ἃ λέγομεν, ὅτι ὁ γενναῖος σκύλαξ, ὡς μὲν ἀστεῖος, πρὸς τοὺς γνωρίμους ἅπαντας ἃ δὲ ἀλλοῖα, πρὸς τοὺς ἀγνῶτας. Ὃ μὲν οὖν γιγνώσκει, φίλον: ὃ δ᾽ οὐ γιγνώσκει, ἐχθρόν. ... οὐκοῦν ... ὁ κύων ... φιλοσοφός; ... φιλομαθὴς γὰρ δή. I look forward to PH Franco-in' it with Bessent, Hegseth or even the next dem favourite! (Some chance they'd share his taste in music?) (In the spirit of Vickrey maybe) should I mention Carter's MEOW? I admit it was a feint.. when I'd said "universal conscription" I had something like the CCC in mind, with medical exemptions redirected to nursing.. Now, I think SSSS would be a good patch.. Service.Satire.Spectator-Sport PS: MEOWs have a habit of lying flat, something I find endearing, but atm no way to incorporate that into the cosmogony

Diogenes' also! (but I must admit I see a bit of a jump in the reasoning at: — ὅτι τοῖς μὲν οἰκείοις καὶ γνωρίμοις ἥμερος, τοῖς δὲ ἀλλοτρίοις τοὐναντίον. ) Do you have any Buxton'ish theories for ameliorating the mid-trust levels of your home country? I must also admit my original project was to come here to figure out what needed changing the Old Country, but kind of lost enthusiasm for that project after deciding early childhood education in the culture seemed to be key...

Our Minister for CCY believes in exchanging lessons with JP But you seem to be asking for my offthewall Buxton 5-to-10 plans which could turn out to be offshoots of these https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40553071 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40553071?
