I'm on the topic of a hypothetical AI future where the economy is disrupted, a small group of capital owners become ultra rich and some significant fraction of the population is permanently dispossessed. Then, in this hypothetical future, the government becomes wholly unresponsive to the needs of the citizenry and instead becomes an vestigial appendage of capital, merely protecting the oligarchs from the poor. This can apply to pretty much any government, doesn't have to mean the US.
