Does anyone know what the original question was? Its clear from the answers that the input used to be some kind of stream (or, it was unspecified and everyone jumped on this interpretation), whereas now it is in ROM.

No, the input is 1 million 8-digit decimal numbers over TCP. The ROM is used to store the program itself, so the code doesn't take up any of the limited memory itself.
