I upvoted your general response but this line was uncalled for. No need to muddy the waters about X11 -> Wayland with the relentlessly debated, interminable, infernal init system comparison.
- patjensen 9mo agoJust wait for systemd-wayland.
- michaelmrose 9mo agoGnome?
- LeFantome 9mo agoSystemd does not have to force Wayland as it is already going the other way. Both GNOME and KDE are requiring systemd now.
- cf100clunk 9mo agoThis discussion is originally about xfce, which does not require systemd now.
- dlcarrier 9mo agoKDE support doesn't even require Linux, let alone Systemd: https://community.kde.org/FreeBSD/Setup https://community.kde.org/FreeBSD/Setup GNOME, on the other hand, practically wants everything running on the exact same software stack, so it requiring a package means nothing.
