Skapa, a parametric 3D printing app like an IKEA manual (2025)
- mitchbob 8mo agoFYI, the Swedish verb for "to create" is "skapa," not "skåpa." https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/swedish-english/skapa https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/swedish-english/... Suggest you use the correct word for the name of the app.
- kaffekaka 8mo agoYou are right of course. But "skåp" means cabinet so "skåpa" could be understood as "build a cabinet", for those who enjoy that kind of pun.
- retSava 8mo agoTo add and not nitpick, but to add the 'a' to the subjective, we make a verb out of it. But it's not immediately obvious what that means, could also be "to put in a cabinet" (which would be my interpretation). Languages are fun :)
- kaffekaka 8mo agoAh yes, skåpa would be a made up verb indeed.
- kreetx 8mo agoThe "å" will be harder to find on peoples' keyboards..
- ge96 8mo agoPromise<Manifold> ha hope so (hits print)
- nchagnet 8mo agoJust fyi that Skapa is already the IKEA design system used to harmonize their design across platforms and websites: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UPTLA2aNASA&t=2s&pp=2AECkAIB https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UPTLA2aNASA&t=2s&pp=2AECkAIB
- wingtw 8mo agoi could see hooks (to hang wrenches for example) as an additional part, also plate (that one could for example glue corkboard on and then be able to pin notes) great work!
