"Destination Space" (1959 movie)
- Animats 9mo agoFirst trip to the moon, from 1959. Not Heinlein's "Destination Moon". Not Disney's version of the Collier's space program. A movie that seems to have been forgotten, even by collectors of early SF movies. Not a low-budget production. Produced by Paramount Pictures. It was all too realistic - it's all about launches being scrubbed and budget cuts. They never do launch.
