Maybe, though a guy did physically carve/sculpt the majority of NYC: https://mymodernmet.com/miniature-model-new-york-minninycity04/ https://mymodernmet.com/miniature-model-new-york-minninycity...
- pavel_lishin 10mo agoHuh, the linked instagram account is no longer available :/
- fwip 10mo agoI got a recommended video in Youtube just the other day, where a bunch of users made NYC in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZouSJWXFBPk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZouSJWXFBPk Granted, it was a team effort, but that's a lot more laborious than a pixel-art view.
- ChrisArchitect 10mo agoRelated: New York City is being recreated at 1:1 scale inside Minecraft https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46665589 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46665589
- cannoneyed 10mo agoThis project is awesome, and I love that there are people who are driven enough to make something with so much craft, attention, and duration. That being said I have three kids (one a newborn) - there's no possible way I could have done this in the before times!
- diabllicseagull 10mo agoyou don't have to do it alone
- sp9k 10mo agoAlso, sites like Pixeljoint used to (or still do? I haven't really kept up) collaborations. This would be a mammoth one, but the result would be much more impressive. This is a cool concept, but it's definitely not pixel art by any definition.
- mediumdeviation 10mo agoAlso while searching for SimCity screenshots I found someone recreating NYC in SimCity 4 https://www.reddit.com/r/simcity4/comments/12dkxey/check_out_this_simcity_4_nyc_region_made_from/ https://www.reddit.com/r/simcity4/comments/12dkxey/check_out...

We don't care - this way to feed of AI generated cat videos."
