I can say exactly that about Linux? I use Linux as my daily driver (KDE, 200% scaling on a 24" 4K) and I really love its DPI scaling. With Plasma 5 I had a few little bugs involving DPI but they are solved with Plasma 6. Same wuth all the apps I use (which admittedly are mostly Qt apps because I don't like Gnome/GTK so I avoid those as much as possible).
