Good climate news: thawing permafrost turns out to be a methane sink
- margalabargala 9mo agoThe title is incorrect. Thawing permafrost is not a methane sink. The claim made by the article is that under warmer, drier conditions arctic soils will uptake more methane than they do now. The increase in uptake is not sufficient to counteract the massive amount of methane that melting permafrost will release.
