> Why anyone thought that applying laws of shareholder capitalism to health insurance was a good idea is beyond me. The idea itself of using the one thing capitalism is actually good at - achieving the lowest possible cost in the short term - isn't that bad. But while that may work out for consumer goods... it's not a good thing to have in healthcare, because here are actual human lives at stake.
